Inspired by the success of Coro di Signori, The Vocal Consort launched a second branch, The Chamber Singers, which seeks to explore a different choral sound – a smaller group for a more intimate setting and hopefully, an enhanced quality of choral singing. The Chamber Singers made its first appearance in the 10th edition of A Voyage of Songs in Bangkok, Thailand in November 2013, where the choir managed to attain a Silver Diploma in the ‘Chamber Music’ category. The Chamber Chorus also appeared in TVC’s annual concert in 2014, ‘Nova Voce’, and performed three songs. More recently, during the Singapore Choral Festival held in August 2015, The Chamber Singers premiered the commissioned piece of the festival, ‘Irama Belia SG50’, composed by local musician Dr. Zechariah Goh.
The Chamber Singers held its first headline concert in December 2015, titled ‘When I Have Sung My Songs To You’, where the choir took on songs from different periods, ranging from the Renaissance period to contemporary works from world-renowned choral composers like Eric Whitacre, Z. Randall Stroope and Ēriks Ešenvalds.
